_ we stayed at our friend sang's house, and in the morning, after we slept off the opera in sleeping bags in the garden hammock, she showed us around her home studio.
_ there's something in the ground in new mexico. this is her garden, planted with, as she says, wild flowers.
_ the mission-style adobe church, complete in 1815, requires a new coat of mud and plaster every year to stop from cracking.
_ volunteers from taos and further afield come in for the several-week operation. here the hudsons, tom and skye clear the stones from the low walls to clear the drainage.
_ our last stop in taos was at the burial mound of dennis hopper, an honorary son of taos. in this picture, we're facing away from it.
