lone rock beach, lake powell, arizona

_ after the canyon we sped north and dived into lake powell, the second-largest man-made lake in the united states. we parked at lone rock beach, so named because of the monolith stood in the middle of the water, an ideal point toward which to swim.

_ scott and his family here were out for the whole weekend, and had camped out in the shallow water about fifty feet from the shore. they didn't look like they were going to move for a while...

_ yeah, that's a good name for a jetski.

_ some people were camped out, others had their rv's drawn right up to the water.

_ kids like taylor were taking their atvs up into the dunes.
